Original game better than the new prequel
I really liked the initial game. The WWI setting, the turn-based design (although hexes are better than squares) and the ability to level up between missions was very attractive. I enjoyed it throughly.
I cant say the same for the new prequel.
Kauls Diary does not tell the purchaser that instead of playing the investigators, you will be playing evil Dr. Kaul. I did not like killing Tommys or Huns for that matter. I know some feel its edgy to play the evil side, but I only feel degraded. In addition you are unable to change weaponry or level up between episodes, although with the characters you are playing leveling up might consist of increasing the volume of your monsters slobbering.
I rated the entire game as four stars, but Kauls diary only rates two.
